We're at the end of another big school year, and at the end of our first term for our new Year 12s. One great practice that will help your studies in 2020 immensely is to reflect on this year (particularly this term for the Year 12s).
There's a big difference in benefits between simply thinking about these in your head, and actually writing them out. So write them out unsparingly.
And to the Year 12s, have an honest analysis into your subjects to decide whether or not you should drop one of them. Don't be afraid to drop to 10 units.
When deciding whether to drop a subject, consider factors such as: - Assessment Task 1 marks - your class teacher - your school's usual success in that subject - how much you enjoy it - its scaling - amount of time you would need to put in it compared to other subjects (e.g. subjects with major works).
And conversely, a poor Assessment Task 1 grade doesn't mean the end of that subject.
We've seen amazing turnarounds from poorโeven 30% weightedโfirst assessment tasks (though it won't be easy). Because even a weighting of 30% is only 15% of your HSC mark for that subject. Smash that remaining 85% !!!
All in all though, a great year and a great term guys. Good job!
